Our neighbors just took down the “tilt-top” tree. That’s been there since we moved here. We only have a few trees left on our street now. I’m so upset. I can’t believe this.

Awwww. I don’t think I even know what tree that is. I haven’t been to your house that many times. It is kind of hard to have lots of trees when there are a lot of houses close together, though. You know, the thing I miss the most when I’m in NY is the woods and the trees. They have too much fields. There are much more woods down here in Virginia than in Rochester.

Wow, I commented 3 minutes after you posted. BTW, you should give your post a title. :-P

I’m feeling the advantages of living where there are lot’s of tree’s. Dad and I just cut down a couple over by the squash garden the other day.

The annoying thing is that the tree wasn’t causing any trouble. Sure, it was tall, sure, it could fall over in a storm, but there wasn’t any higher a chance of it falling than any other of the trees (albeit few) on our block.
There used to be a gorgeous red maple down the street…they chopped that years ago. Then the tree next door, who knows, maybe they thought it was too shady. Now this one, and another behind it, too. So sad.
